Quick Game Facts
Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong single-handedly transformed Nintendo from a small Japanese toy company to later become one of the biggest video game companies in the world. Donkey Kong was (and still is) one of the most popular arcade games ever released.

Donkey Kong was probably the second most merchandised game of its time, behind Pac-Man. The game went on to spawn two classic sequels, Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong 3 as well as a slew of other games involving its characters on home systems. Donkey Kong and its star character, Mario are probably one of most well known video game characters today, with new games still be released featuring them.

Coin-Op Overview

In the game, your player plays as "Jump Man" (later known as Mario) in search of his captured girlfriend who has been taken by none other than Donkey Kong. This game is a classic platform style game, consisting of four levels.

You control Jump Man using a 4-way joystick for movement and a button for jumping. The joystick does not center, so it feels slightly different than other games (Pac-Man for example). The buttons are slightly smaller than the standard 1" buttons, so if they are replaced they need to be replaced with similar Nintendo buttons, or the holes in the control panel need to be slightly enlarged.
