Vacation Notice (6/24/22)

Note that we will be away for a much needed vacation beginning Saturday June 25th through Monday, July 4th, 2022. The website will remain open for online ordering during this time with orders shipped when we return on Tuesday July 5th, 2022.  Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Manufacturer Atari

Fairly clean, dipswitches broken, should be repairable

Original untested Atari Asteroids arcade game circuit board from 1980. Consider this board needing repair, but we did not test it. We are getting to a point where we just don't have the time, patience and motivation to go over most vector boards we find, so we are selling them as-is.

This one is pretty clean, certainly should be repairable, we are assuming it doesn't work as it has been sitting for a long time. It is a clean board, no corrosion, some of the dipswitch banks are broken and will need to be replaced. Otherwise appears to be complete and should be fixable.

See photos for more details on its exact condition, boardset sold as-is.

Quick Game Facts

Game play is straightforward and very fast paced after the first couple of stages. You control your space ship with one mission; survive by avoiding and destroying asteroids that fly throughout the screen and the occasional UFO that is always out to get you. In addition to your ship's blaster your ship is aided with hyperspace, which instantly transports you somewhere else on the screen.

Coin-Op Overview

Easily one of the top five most successful arcade games released and arguably Atari's most successful game. Asteroids was known to devour quarters when released. Some arcade operators we've spoken to said that they had cut a hole in the quarter box and put trash cans in the game to hold all of the money the game made when it was released.
