Atari B&W Vector Transformer Assembly

Used in Asteroids and Lunar Landers with G05-801 Monitors

Tested and working Atari black and white vector game power transformer block. This is the power transformer unit used in Atari's early black and white vector games, including Asteroids and Lunar Lander.

We are fairly certain that this one is pinned for the Electrohome G05-801 monitors and has been tested and works fine and is pretty clean given its age. We did not replace the "Big Blue" cap and recommend doing that prior to long-term use.

See pictures for more details on its condition, overall very nice given its age.

Quick Game Facts

Game play is straightforward and very fast paced after the first couple of stages. You control your space ship with one mission; survive by avoiding and destroying asteroids that fly throughout the screen and the occasional UFO that is always out to get you. In addition to your ship's blaster your ship is aided with hyperspace, which instantly transports you somewhere else on the screen.

Coin-Op Overview

Easily one of the top five most successful arcade games released and arguably Atari's most successful game. Asteroids was known to devour quarters when released. Some arcade operators we've spoken to said that they had cut a hole in the quarter box and put trash cans in the game to hold all of the money the game made when it was released.
