Donkey Kong Junior

Original, working Nintendo DK Jr. boardset

Tested and working, original Nintendo Donkey Kong Jr. arcade game board (the two board set, mounted on the original metal plate). Board uses the Nintendo classic pinout, vertical monitor and a 4-way joystick and one button for game play.  Boardset was recently repaired, sound section recapped and burn-in tested overnight.

This boardset will plug directly into an original Donkey Kong cabinet and work fine. Includes the CPU board and Video board as shown.

This particular set is pretty clean, very good condition, see images for more details. Note that the power cable to connect the two boards is NOT included. This cable is only needed if you use the board on the edge connector. The original wiring harness does not require this cable.

Donkey Kong Junior

Nintendo followed up Donkey Kong with a hit sequel in 1982, Donkey Kong Junior. In the sequel, the storyline is reversed: the player plays as Donkey Kong’s son, Donkey Kong Junior and takes on Mario who portrays the enemy. The platform game contains four stages in which Junior must release his imprisoned father while avoid enemies such as snap jaws and blue birds.

Coin-Op Overview

Donkey Kong Jr. featured a cabinet similar in shape to the original, but orange instead of blue. The cabinet features side art decals depicting the game’s character in a comical scene. The game, along with its predecessor, Donkey Kong, were two of a small handful of classic games to have their own cereals made.
